As long-distance besties, we were sending each other so many voicemails that it started to feel like personalized podcasts. At some point, we had to take notes to remember what we were talking about. There are often discussed topics that we believe might interest a wider audience.

And that's how the idea of creating the podcast Connected by Distance came about.

The excitement at the beginning was so high that we just wanted to jump right into it. However, there are many challenges that we are still learning to overcome step by step.

The episode recording was the easiest part. We live in a world dominated by social media, and so starting to build an audience before releasing the first episode felt like a necessity and a lot of fun as well. Even though the ideas for the content were flowing effortlessly, bringing them to life turned out to be a separate challenge. We are managing to create at least one video every day, and we dare to say the content is getting better as well.

Who would expect to actually need a steady internet connection to make a podcast with two hosts living on different continents work? Not only does one of us have to sacrifice sleep regardless of what time we record the episodes, but sometimes it also feels like our phones will burn out soon.

It is a journey, but we are proud to say that a few episodes are already recorded and ready to be released to the world soon.

We hope to build a community of long-distance besties, sharing our stories and advice, as well as the stories of our listeners.

Because we would love to be Connected by Distance.
